It’s very easy to develop a man crush on the best American reporter in the Middle East. Richard Engel is nice, polite and has written two books. He’s also been churning out some of the best reporting on the Egypt revolution (and the soon to come other revolutions) this side of Al-Jazeera.
His Wikipedia page says: “Prior to joining NBC News in May 2003, he covered the start of the 2003 war in Iraq from Baghdad for ABC News as a freelance journalist. He speaks and reads Arabic fluently and is also fluent in Italian and Spanish.”
Check out some of his work here. In the first video he’s fighting off tear gas. He’s been working overtime lately but has been a hard worker for years.
