Offer recurring billing.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">As noted by the fine folks at BluePay, waiting to invoice your clients isn\u2019t good for business. For example, if you bill monthly there will be hidden costs like;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"postList\">\n<li class=\"graf graf--li\">Hours spent sending and receiving each invoice<\/li>\n<li class=\"graf graf--li\">Money spent on materials such as paper, envelopes and stamps, along with any repairs<\/li>\n<li class=\"graf graf--li\">Lost or misplaced invoices that have to be re-sent<\/li>\n<li class=\"graf graf--li\">Time spent waiting for payments to clear<\/li>\n<li class=\"graf graf--li\">The time spent chasing down a late payment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Recurring billing, however, can eliminate those costs since it automatically invoices the client like clockwork on a set schedule and then automatically deducts the money from the user\u2019s account. Simply put, it saves you time and money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">But, there\u2019s some other perks of recurring billing. It\u2019s better for the environment since it reduces the amount of paper you\u2019re using and it can help with improved client retention.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"graf graf--h3\">6. Send online voices and attach\u00a0files.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf--startsWithDoubleQuote\">\u201cWant to dramatically increase your chances of getting paid as soon as your customers receive your invoices?,\u201d asks Ros Black on the <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xero.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/get-paid-faster-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.xero.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/get-paid-faster-2\/\">Xero Blog<\/a>. \u201cWith online invoices your customers simply click on a link you send them, then click on a Pay Now button. Your customers don\u2019t even have to think about when or how they\u2019ll pay you\u200a\u2014\u200athey\u2019re likely to pay you immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Services like Due and Xero provide an online invoice link every time you email an invoice. You just have to simply attach your payment service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Black adds, \u201cGive your customers all the information they need as soon as you invoice them. Otherwise, your customers might use lack of documentation as an excuse to delay payment.\u201d You can accomplish this by attaching files directly to your invoices so that your clients and customers can review details like work schedules, contracts, and product specs.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"graf graf--h3\">7. Provide payment instructions.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Regardless of the size of your business, every invoice should include your customer\u2019s information like their address, your contact information, billing details, itemized list of products and services, and a due date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">It should also provide payment instructions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">How should the customer pay? Should they send a check in the mail? Do they click a <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/due.com\/periodic-table-online-payment-acceptance-success\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https:\/\/due.com\/periodic-table-online-payment-acceptance-success\/\">link to pay online<\/a> or drop the payment in your digital wallet? Think about how frustrating it is when you are waiting for the check or your credit card at a restaurant. A few minutes delay from the server may send you somewhere else the next time you are hungry. The same concept may apply in your industry as well!\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"graf graf--h3\">8. Be friendly until you have to be\u00a0firm.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf--startsWithDoubleQuote\">\u201cIf a customer is only a week or two beyond the due date, it\u2019s important to avoid making assumptions.
