Just this week Google has launched a brand new quarterly "magazine". Of course with Google being Google, it's purely online and not in print (although I wouldn't put it past them to go into print media as well).

The new magazine is called Think Quarterly, and covers things Google regularly sends business customers "via email newsletters, updates on our official blogs, and printed materials," according to the site.

"At Google, we often think that speed is the forgotten 'killer application' - the ingredient that can differentiate winners from the rest. But in a world of accelerating change, we all need time to reflect. Think Quarterly is a breathing space in a busy world. It's a place to take time out and consider what's happening and why it matters." - Google managing director Matt Brittin

The debut issue is all about data headed with the question, "amongst a morass of information, how can you find the magic metrics that will help transform your business?" Just as with any magazine they are using traditional sources of journalists, academics, executives, designers and photographers. There is really nothing different about this and something you'd pick up at your local newsstand...with the exception of paper.

The next issue will be published in May, but the company says that they have "no plans to start selling copies" emphasizing that the magazine is "firmly aimed at Google's partners and advertisers." I think this is a great way for Google to get information out about different ideas and products. It's really well done and again, aside from the paper element, is exactly what you would expect from a magazine.
